Off to watch One Piece with my sister now. *__*

Oh my god. What the hell is it with Japanese shows and their stupid need for FLASHBACK EPISODES? I mean, yeah, I understand that you usually only get one episode a week, so a series that SEEMS short is really running for at least half a year. BUT STILL. 27-episode series do NOT need an entire episode dedicated to reminding you about stuff you've ALREADY SEEN. Seriously, I think the only thing more annoying than a whole episode of flashbacks is that thing they do in Naruto when they decide to show you scenes over and over and OVER of something you saw like...two episodes ago. Or one episode. OR FIVE MINUTES AGO IN THE SAME EPISODE. LKASJHDLKJASD.

Backstory I'm okay with, because that's stuff you haven't experienced before. Flashbacks usually just piss me off. USUALLY.

...Anyhoo.

So I'm on episode 17 of TTGL. I randomly started enjoying it more around episode 11. I tend to forget how much I actually like mecha series, with all the explosions and battles and things being blown up all over the place. *__* The fight scenes in TTGL got pretty good all of a sudden, so I think once I stopped...ahaha, COMPARING it to other series and stopped looking for deeper underlying messages and just started watching it for my OWN reasons, the entertainment value went up. And the art style has grown on me, like I KNEW it would. I really don't know why it was bugging me in the first place. I think it just reminded me too much of FLCL and oh my GOD, I hate that show. But yeah, definitely liking it more now!

I'm almost out of One Piece movies to watch. LAAAAAAAAAME. I've only got the 8th one left. And the 9th, once it's subbed. A few of us watched movie 6 in chat over the weekend and HAHAHAHAHA. Oh my god. BEST MOVIE EVER, RIGHT GUYS????

Ignoring the HORRIBLE animation, the plot was waaaay too dark and too CREEPY for anything in the One Piece universe. Hell, even if it WASN'T One Piece, if it was just some random anime movie, I still don't think I would've liked it. But the fact that it WAS One Piece had me cringing like...the whole time. Because WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY SHOW??? Oh man. A lot of the characterizations seemed completely off, too. Little things, details that maybe should be easy to ignore, but ended up just being GLARINGLY wrong. So just pile all that on top of the animation - I swear, there'd be these GORGEOUS backgrounds and whatnot, and then the characters looked like they were added as an afterthought, like: "OH YEAH, FORGOT CHOPPER SHOULD BE IN THIS JUNGLE SCENE! *takes two seconds to paint him in*" - it was just nooot very good. In my opinion.

Luckily I watched movie 7 immediately after, and that made everything okay again. :D

...I think I need a new mood theme. HAH, oh yeah, and I totally redid most of my icons a couple days ago. I FINALLY HAVE MORE ONE PIECE ICONS THAN PRINCE OF TENNIS!


ETA: wtf. This show. "Seven years later" and everyone goes retarded.

I need to keep reminding myself that spending the entire afternoon watching random One Piece clips on YouTube is NOT, in fact, going to get my homework out of the way any faster. alkjsdfas.

Yeah, for some reason I just watched about 109823981231 clips of the FUNimation dub voices. It's only a BILLION times better than 4Kids. They're actually funny, too.

I rearranged all the posters in my room today. I had to make room for NEW ones. So now I've got a whole section of one of my walls devoted to One Piece. >.> Wheeee!!

THAT ASIDE.

So I've been watching One Piece lately. And by lately I mean "for about the last two weeks" and by watch I mean "I've devoured 200 episodes and haven't slept properly in days." @_@

BEST. SERIES. EVER.

Seriously, I can't even put into words how good it is. It actually REALLY surprised me at first. I was completely hooked after about two episodes, when usually it takes me ten to fifteen to get into a series (>.> or 70 if it's Naruto). There's not ONE character I don't like, and that's reeeaally unusual for me. They're all so well developed and have interesting and unique backstories. SOME OF WHICH ACTUALLY HAD ME CRYING. NO SERIOUSLY. And their relationships with each other are just...alkjshdlkasd. I don't even know. Their LOYALTY to their teammates (NAKAMA!!!) is so wonderful. The plots and different stories and arcs have all been AMAZING so far. And I'm told it only gets better and better, which I actually can't even comprehend right now, because the Alabasta arc was honestly one of the best things I've ever seen and Skypiea was pretty damn good, too. The fighting is good and the battles aren't too long or drawn out. It's funny, it's serious, it's heartbreaking, it's everything that's good about fifty different shows I could name, but all rolled into ONE.

Look, I've been so busy watching episode after episode that this is the first time I've posted about it and I'm already 2/3 of the way through! Yeah, there are a crazy insane amount of episodes, which kind of worried me at first, but now it only makes me stupidly happy because IT SHOULDN'T EVER END. I love it so much. Ignore any other series I've ever flailed about, this one takes the cake.

Not that I don't love my other shows, haha. <3

BUT. ONE PIECE. LAKSJHDLKAJHSDLKJASD. *_____*

I'm also all caught up on Naruto, anime-wise. Which I started watching for real in December. (I say "for real" because I watched about thirty episodes MONTHS ago and then got bored). I'm so up-and-down about this series. Parts of it are like, INSANELY good. But so much of it seems to draaag. There are characters that I'm ridiculously in love with, though, and others I absolutely HATE. Like, it's weird how strongly I feel about the characters when I'm so blasé towards the series itself. I can't explain it. But every time, for example, Gaara shows up, there better not be anyone else in the room because ALL of my attention is on the screen. The Gaara-Naruto episodes in Shippuuden were pretty much the best of the entire series. I thought I loved the Sasuke-Naruto moments, but oh my god, GAARA. He's awesome. And Shikamaru is freaking amazing, too. Yeah.

Ahahaha, so I love how my last post was all about Harry Potter and Kingdom Hearts. I seriously can't seem to stick with one series lately, can I? Yeesh. I'm alllll over the place, because I'm still on that H/D high, too! But that's been tossed in with the usual KH love, Naruto/Gaara (WHICH THERE ISN'T ENOUGH OF) and Naruto/Sasuke fic hunts, and new pairings keep popping up all over the place in One Piece. I'm all a flail about Zoro/Sanji at the moment. I think I just rotate through things on a daily basis. It's weird, I'm used to focusing on one fandom at a time. I mean, I've always been able to WATCH more than one thing at once, but fic-wise, I usually just stick to reading one thing. NOT LATELY THOUGH.

Of course, having more fandoms to read just means there's an EVERLASTING SUPPLY OF AWESOME STUFF OUT THERE.
