1) BTW, chapter 15 of 'All the Answers' IS CURRENTLY WITH MY BETAS. w00t. So go bug them, not me. XDDD
2) OMG. Episode 21 of Ouran High School Host Club? TOTALLY MAKES ME WANT TO SHIP HIKARU/HARUHI. Like, for serious. And this isn't the first time I've wanted to ship them. But that part in the rope net trap thing WAS TOO FRICKIN CUTE!! I watched it about a bazillion times, no joke. Oh, and the class representative? Totally had Horio's voice. No really. I checked. ^.^
3) MORE OMG. Fruits Basket this time. MANGA SPOILERS LIKE WHOA! What the crap, is it over?? I don't really keep up with it. I buy it from Tokyopop, and every so often I'll check the latest scanlations to see what's going on, BUT WAS THAT IT? Chapter 131 - the end?? Well, it's close to the end, in any case. NOBODY'S CURSED ANYMORE!! HOLY SHIT! I didn't think the day would ever actually come!! Waaaah, and the fight in...chapter 124, I think it was? The Kyo/Yuki fight? I am a stubborn Kyo/Yuki shipper, SO IT MADE ME ALL SORTS OF HAPPY. Though I was also cheering for Kyo/Tohru, so I'm not disappointed in the least. KISSING. OUD FOUSD FOISDU FOISDFSDF. SO CUTE. Oh oh oh, and also, Yuki got the student council girl! Actually, I was also shipping Yuki with that girl's brother, whatever the hell his name was, but this leaves openings for all sorts of incest/threesome pairings that I will most likely never read or write because I'm not that involved in the Fruits Basket fandom. ^^;; Anyway. Man. I love Fruits Basket. I can't believe it's coming to an end. I may have to go catch myself up on the rest of it, because Tokyopop is being a slow bitch with it. One volume every four months? What the shit is that??
4) More translations for 'Starts With a Spin' have come up! They can all be found on my webpage. The latest two are the Italian and the Finnish translations (the Italian archive you need to sign up for to read SWAS), but it's also been translated into German, Russian, and Hebrew. SO COOL. I can't read one word of any of them, lol, but way cool nonetheless!!
5) I finished Death Note. *pouts* I kept hoping you-know-who would pop up again, even though I knew he wasn't going to. And I was pretty sure I knew how it was going to end, but I didn't expect HIM to be the one to do it. Um. Yeah. [/incoherentness] SO GOOD THOUGH. I am thoroughly in love with this manga, and I promise I will be watching obsessively when the anime comes out. Mainly because you-know-who will still be there. XDDD AND I NEED THE MOVIE!! HURRY UP AND COME OUT ON DVD. Or better yet, come to the U.S.!!!
6) I also finished Hikaru no Go. The manga and the 2004 special (WHICH DID NOT COVER THE ENTIRE MATCH LIKE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO! RAWR!). So good. I just. I have no words. It was really good. I'm sad it's over. But there is still much fic to be read, so yay!
7) I downloaded Nobuta wo Produce because Aja demanded it of me. ^^;; Well, not of me specifically, but I'm not one to turn down raving requests for people to watch jdramas full of pretty Japanese boys and gratuitous boy-touching. ^.~ Haven't watched it yet, BUT OH I'M GOING TO!
8) Um. Ok, there is no #8. I'm going to go watch the next dubbed episode of Tenipuri now. And try to think of what the hell to write for my
santa_smex fic. Heh, it's a pairing I've read before and kept trying to find more fic for because I liked it so much, but when it comes to writing it myself I have no idea where to start. *scratches head* It shall be fun, though! And a challenge! Yayness. ^.^

Ouran 21: I'm torn between Tamaki/Haruhi and Hikaru/Haruhi, but came to the conclusion that it has to be Tamaki, otherwise Kaoru would me all emo... with Tamaki.
*scampers away to Gattaca essay*

I like Tamaki/Haruhi too!! The problem is that I also like Kyouya/Tamaki. ^^;; Which leaves Haruhi free to be with Hikaru, but then poor Kaoru is all alone!! ...Though I suppose he and Tamaki could be emo together. And Kyouya could smack them around some to get them out of their funk. Hmmm.

-need to finish HnG (and PoT!) i just don't want them to end. ever.
-aja will be the death of me. but i refuse to download anything else until i've watched the +40 GB of anime on my computer. fail.

HnG is love. Pure and simple. Though it hasn't completely taken over in the ficcing area yet, and I very much doubt I'd write anything for it. Isn't it funny how you can love so many different fandoms, yet there's only certain ones you'll actually stay involved in?
Heh, Aja. She's the reason I watched PoT, too. >_< I don't stalk her LJ or anything, why do you ask?? ^^;;;;
no subject
-[HnG] it is. i read about half of it in two days and then stopped because slgldsksdlk. i don't want it to end. period. i also want the anime. so much love.
and yes about the fandom thing. except HP & PoT I haven't gotten into fandom at all. My viewing/reading experience is all I'm usually interested on, since there's always someone around to discuss it.
HP, I was dragged into. PoT is (on my flist) so terribly related to HP that the "transition" just happened. But all my other obsessions? (buffy, alias, house, other anime, movies) stay a fandomless experience.
-i don't remember who is responsible for my watching PoT. it took over my flist, and i first hated the idea of a dying fandom (haha, sillyness. not happening) then finally gave up and asked for episodes. then aja made that Guide to Tenipuri and i was DOOMED.
Well. I stalk her LJ since, like, late 2002-early 2003. So I know the feeling. Mmm, lurking.

I really, really can't recommend Nobuta wo Produce enough. It's so good. I learned about it on Silent Regrets months ago after watching the Hana Yori Dango and Sailor Moon live actions. (I highly recommend HYD!) The character dynamism, their parallel evolutions, the way their friendship naturally unfolds, the sweet, cracky humor - there's something effortless and sincere about this series. It's now tied for my favorite Jdrama of all time.

The story is about this awesomely strong-minded girl named Makino Tsukushi. She's a smart scholarship student at this insanely exclusive high school for the scions of rich families. Just trying to keep her head down and make it through school, Tsukushi ends up running afoul of the F4 when she stands up for one of her friends who accidentally bumps into the group. The F4 - or the Flower Four - are the four sons of the most influential families in school. They are untouchable, and have this awful practice of "red lettering" people. Whoever has a red letter in their locker is then the target of systematic bullying - by the WHOLE SCHOOL. And I mean everyone participates.
Determined not to be forced out of a school she worked so hard to join, Tsukushi finally loses it and KICKS THE SHIT out of F4's leader - Doumyouji Tsukasa - in front of everyone.
At this point, Doumyouji falls in love with Tsukushi, because he rightly recognizes that she is THE MOST AWESOME GIRL EVER. (She reminds him of his totally kickass older sister, which is weird, but never incestuous.) This is all set up in the first episode. The subsequent episodes show the evolution of their relationship. I love this series because Doumyouji is a HUGE PRICK, and they have to work really hard to convince both the audience and Tsukushi that he's really just a little boy who was raised by wolves and actually needs to be taken home and have his tummy rubbed. (My friend's words, not mine.) Because of the premise, it's focused entirely on character development and all plot conflict is meant to support the revelation of Doumyouji's character and his intense devotion to and dogged belief in Tsukushi.
It's a seriously funny drama. It's set up like your typical high school drama, but the crack-tastic writing raises it well above and beyond the angst-fest we've come to know on America's WB channel. The characters are really well cast, the production values were high, and the chemistry between the actors is great. Matsumoto Jun received an award for his performance of Doumyouji Tsukasa. The story is characterized by a real warmth and sincerity and just earnestness that you can't deny.
To sum it all up: AWESOME SERIES. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ^_^
