Aug. 24th, 2006 02:14 amWhat the crap, why is every other Kingdom Hearts story on Fanfiction.net an AU? Meh, okay, stupid question. But still. Is it really that difficult to write something set after KH2? Why do Leon and Cloud always have to become someone's older brother? Why is one of the characters always depressed and on the verge of killing himself?? And I can understand the urge to include Axel and Roxas in with the other characters, but surely there's some way to do that without tossing them into a high school setting fic where the biggest conflict is who's going to win the next blitzball game!
Don't get me wrong, there are some really good AUs out there, just like there are some amazing fics on FF.net, as far and few between as it may seem, but friggin' hell! Now I remember why I don't go searching on FF.net very often. Curiosity killed the cat, and all that.
Ahaha, yes, I was playing Kingdom Hearts today, why do you ask?
Oh oh oh! And I've now seen twenty episodes of Hikaru no Go! And it's good! Really good! lol, you know what? It definitely starts off better than Tenipuri did! Despite the fact that I watched PoT nonstop at the beginning, I didn't really get hooked until after the first fifteen episodes or so. But HnG had me pretty much from the get-go. Probably because it introduced Touya right away. ^.^
Oy, and there are some awesome Death Note fics out there. And doujinshi. Am very, very happy with this fandom so far, hehe.
Grah, okay, I know it seems like I'm doing everything possible except writing the next chapter of All the Answers and...er, well that's probably because I am, but I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I really am. Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving it up and I don't even plan to take a break from writing it or whatever, it's just taking me longer these days. I feel like I'm losing my grasp on Harry Potter. I don't read H/D fics nearly as much as I used to, not to mention the actual HP books, so it always leaves me struggling for a bit when I try to come back to it. There are details I'm fuzzy about, and if I'm not careful the characters end up resembling someone from another series, just masquerading around with Harry or Draco's name. I've still got the outline for Answers, and I definitely still plan on finishing it, however long it may take me, I'm just finding myself more and more interested in other things nowadays.
Not to mention school starts again on Monday, after taking an entire year off from it to work. So that'll be a huge transition.
Anyway. I'm asking you all to understand. Yes, there will be more and more posts about things NOT Harry Potter or Harry/Draco on this journal. It doesn't mean I'm "leaving the HP fandom" or anything like that. It is what it is, take it or leave it.
Aack, so serious! Enough of that! =P I have a craving for so many random things right now. Sora/Riku, Light/L, Yuuri/Wolfram, ANYTHING FROM TENIPURI, Mugen/Jin. I must go satisfy myself. Or maybe I'll finally get around to finishing that Sora/Riku sequel I started back in like...June. Heh. ^.~
